What Is I.P.L?

I.P.L stands for Indian premier league. It is one of the most favorite and biggest event of cricket world. It was started by board of control for cricket in India in 2008 and also played in Indian sub-continent. Mostly Indian players take part in it. It is good and beneficial tournament coz new youngster player take part in it and through this we got new talents. Different famous and rich personalities buy the cricketers and made their team.

Totally 3 series have been played of IPL whether 4^th season is going to start. First season were played in 2008. 8 teams take part in it and 56 matches were played. Every match was awesome and ground was full crowded. Indian cricket board earns much money through this. Final match was between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings and at last Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings and won the first IPL tournament.

2^nd IPL were played in 2009. Again 8 teams take part in it . 56 matches were held. In every match ground was crowded and as previous season Indian cricket board earns a lot of money. Deccan Charges and Royal Challengers after fabulous play reached the finals and at last Deccan Charges defeated Royal Challengers and won the IPL season 2.

3^rd season were held in 2010. Again 8 teams, 56 matches. 1st season’s finalist Chennai Super Kings and 2^nd season’s winner Deccan Charges qualify for the finals. But this time result was opposite. And Chennai Super Kings won the IPL season 3.

Now season 4 is going to start from 8^th April 2011. This time with addition of 2 new teams 10 teams are participating and 74 matches will be played. Every one is waiting for this exciting tournament. Many players have been selected and announced.

Flintoff and Pieterson from England team are the most expensive players yet with 1.5 million $ each. Suresh Raina from Indian international cricket team is the most runs scorer in IPL with 1375 runs whether R.P Singh is most wickets holder with 51 wickets.
