500 Villages of Sindh Inundated
Latest Updates:-As many as 500 adjoining villages of Ghari Kharo have been submerged in water. The flood water is now heading towards FP protective embankment. Shahdad Kot, Qabu Saeed Khan, Meeru Khan and Sajawal Jonejo have been evacuated. A safety embankment has been built around Shahdad Kot. Water has been entered in adjoining areas of Qabu Saeed Khan which will consequently submerge 300 villages.
But water has not yet entered into Meeru Khan and Sajawal Khan but administration feared that water can hit protective embankment of National Highway.Theflood water is also causing unsustainable pressure at Sorjani and Sondh embankments. The high flooding at River Indus has inundated swathes of catchments area from Babbarlu to Sagion, where ready crops scattering on 350,000 acres were ruined
The water level is continuously rising in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rojhan. The tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan remain cut off from the rest of the country for the last 25 days.
The Indus River remained in exceptionally high-flood situation, the death toll from flash floods and landslides triggered by torrential monsoon rains increases with each passing day. Flash floods and building collapses caused by heavy rains, over flowed canals, thunder lights and stormy drainage Nullahs, have already killed hundreds of people.Thewater level is continuously increasing at Tonsa Barrage, two more breaches that appeared in adjoining canals have been completely overwhelmed under water.
